slinging steel deck, waist deep in mud: when a stagehand is whining about the long hours they are working at their cushy Broadway theater job, you can say, "It is not like you are slinging steel deck, waist deep in mud."

I presently carry out author interviews for the website LitHub.com, but before that I worked as a book columnist for the Newark Star-Ledger from January 2002 to June 2012. I have written for the New York Observer, the New York Post, the Denver Post and other newspapers.
