Shell Answer Man--famously opinionated carpenter, now retired, who had an answer for everything, even if he was wrong. Name taken from the old TV commercials for Shell Oil, which had a character called the Shell Answer Man.

Petty Crimes of the Day: the food thief of NBC

the food thief of NBC-- the famously nasty Outside Prop Head of NBC's flagship talk show, a scion of an old NBC stagehand family, was caught stealing tens of thousands of dollars of food, purchased on the NBC credit card and used for outside food styling photo shoots. She may also have stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars of corporate samples used on the TV show over the course of several years, including expensive make up, electronics and high-end cookware, that she had shipped home. She sold the samples on E-Bay. Taken out of her office by security, she was banned from NBC for life. She will be forever known as "the food thief of NBC."
