Term of the Day--Times Square Panic

Times Square Panic--On August 6, 2019, after a series of mass shootings around the country, a backfire from a motorcycle in Times Square caused thousands of tourists to run through the area, trying to escape nonexistent gunfire. Some sought safety in Broadway theaters where shows had just finished up or were still playing. Several people were injured in the stampede. Also known as the Times Square Stampede.
