 bald spots-- when sections of seats are empty in the orchestra or in the mezzanine for a struggling show. The empty seats can appear like a bald sot when the other seats are full with patrons. 'When I peeked out to count the house, there were bald spots in the mezzanine and the orchestra."

"Evil Gene was always happiest when he was ripping off contract stagehands he'd hired of money they deserved." A reference to a now retired tech, famous for screwing stagehands who worked for him.
